Tweet-Treats: Delight Your Bird's Taste Buds with Homemade Parrot Muffins
This delicious parrot muffin recipe is a perfect treat for your feathered friend! Made with Raw for Birds Fruit and Nut Treat, almond flour, and wholemeal self-raising flour, these muffins are a great source of nutrients for your bird. They are easy to make and can be stored in the freezer for up to six months, making them a great option for hot summer days when your bird needs a refreshing treat. Preparation:
Preheat oven to 160 degrees Celsius.
What you need:
- 2 1/2 Cups Almond Flour
- 1/2 Cup Wholemeal Self-raising Flour
- 1 cup Raw for Birds Fruit and Nut Treat, Tropical Treat also works well
- 1 cup Water - can add more if needed
- Paper Muffin Pans - we used small size for a small portion
Method:
Combine dry ingredients into a large mixing bowl, mix until combined. Add one cup of water and mix well, you can add additional water but you want it too be a rough texture, not runny.
Using a two teaspoons evenly spoon the mix into the muffin pans making sure the mixture in pushed in.
Top each Parrot Muffin with a nut or you can also use some of the Raw for Birds Fruit and Nut Treat.
Bake at 160 degrees celcus for 15 mintues, prick with a skewer if it comes out clean. Additional time might be needed but keep a close on their cooking time to avoid burning them.
Once cooked remove and allow to cool before offering to your bird.
How to store:
We reccomend offering them to your bird fresh, within three days. Can also be stored in the freezer for upto six months and are great for hot days if offered frozen.
